EFFECT OF WIRE ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINING ON THE SURFACE OF EBM-ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED NITI ALLOYS

Nickel-titanium (NiTi) shape memory alloys are used in varied engineering products, such as biomedical device and mechatronic actuator applications. The conventional machining technology utilized the limited fields due to their effects on hardness brittleness of machined alloys. However, wire electrical discharge (WEDM) is one most preferred post-processing tool obtain a surface with high quality. current voltage values pulse off time crucial parameters for WEDM. These should be optimized before process. Electron beam melting (EBM)-based additive manufacturing nickel-titanium powders provides obtaining bulk NiTi using energy electron beams. In this study, application WEDM which evaluated EBM-based manufactured samples. Additionally, scanning microscopy results samples carefully investigated.
